Yesterday was a great day for our son, Jarom. He waited patiently for this day for a long time and was so anxious to get baptized. His baptism was with our Provo Wasatch Tongan Stake. The stake runs baptisms a little different then I'm used to. We had to be at the stake center at 9 am. We prepped the kids the night before that we had an early morning ahead of us. When we got there it was like 8:48. We were cutting it just a little close. We didn't find out till there what number we were on the program to get baptized since it was a stake baptism all the words that had kids getting baptized were there. It was our luck or not luck that we were last. Didn't phase Jarom one bit. He was happy and content the whole time. When it was finally our turn we were dismissed to the Relief Society room. It was so cute to see Jarom walk down with his dad in the font. Jarom got a little shy by all the attention but he did great. Uncle Jasen and Uncle Gordon were his witnesses.
While we waited for them to change Grandma Netta played the piano and we sang hymns. On a side note Aunty Leise, Uncle, Rina, and Tori happened to be there for another cousins baptism and they were able to come watch Jarom too. After Jarom and Koki were done we finished the program. Gideon gave a talk on baptism, I gave a little spotlight on Jarom, Papa confirmed, and then closing remarks by Brother Fano (bishopric member) and Sis. Baker (primary). Jarom chose " When I am Baptized" for the closing song and Isaac said the closing prayer. Despite being last on not getting to the font till 10:20 we were still done by 11 and it was a great program.
We of course all met at Vernetta's church in Provo to eat. The menu was set by Jarom: Pizza, hot dogs, donuts, and chips. In addition to that delicious menu we did a waffle bar and breakfast burritos. Later that night Jarom couldn't eat because he said he was still full from earlier. I guess he enjoyed his menu :)
After eating we decided to let the kids go to the movies with their cousins. The older four kids got to go see Jungle Book. Koki and I stayed in the car since Jaycie and Sale fell asleep. It was great because we got to watch our show, Person on Interest, while they were in the movie.
Our last stop before heading home was for ice cream at Mc Donalds. Papa and Gigi treated everyone and it was a wonderful ending to Jarom's big day.
I'm so proud of Jarom and his decision. I hope he will always have the enthusiasm for the gospel that he had on his day. I love him so much and can't wait for him to enjoy his membership in the only true church.
