Family Pictures

Its been a long time since we took professional family pictures. It always seemed like so much work. This year Koki and I both we needed to start getting them done. I am sooooo happy that we did. We decided we were going to start a new tradition and get it done for our anniversary present . Its a great time of the year for weather and the kids already have their haircuts because of back to school. I'm already thinking about next year.

Naughty and Naughty

My girls have been giving me a run for my money lately. Everyday I am cleaning one mess right after another. Jos empties ALL the clothes out in their drawers on a daily basis. Right before we went to Hawaii I spent all day organizing their clothes, uggh.

Today they wanted to watch a cartoon. I've been having some rough nights with Sale and wanted to just chill for a second so I agreed to a cartoon. Sale was crying so I went in the kitchen to calm him down. I sat at the table. Put my feet up. The girls were watching Sesame Street. Finally a moment to veg out.

I started watching Family Feud on my phone. My back was turned away from the girls. I could hear them start pounding on the couch. I thought they were playing drums or something. You know Sesame Street does interactive stuff like that. I swear it was like 3 minutes tops that I had my back turned. I finally look over my shoulder to see what they were doing....baby powder EVERYWHERE. It is so hard not to spank them. They're so messy. They sat on the stairs in timeout. I told them to clean their room. We'll see how that goes.

As I'm writing this I'm putting Sale to sleep on the couch in his room and I can hear them downstairs.. I'm hoping for their sake and mine its not another mess.

***Update***
I went downstairs and sugar was all over the kitchen floor and the table, The girls were exiled to the backyard so I could get my sanity back.

Sunday Happenings

I had BYC this morning which meant Koki was all alone to get the kids ready for church. He did pretty good. At 8:23 I got a text to come outside and help him with the kids. The girls were a mess. The boys did good except Jarom forgot to brush his teeth, gross. My girls are always wanting to change their dresses even if they're the ones that picked them out so after 3 dress changes for Joslyn, two for Jaycie and hair done in the parking lot we were ready to go.

After church we went to John Ah Mu's farewell. It was packed. I was sitting in the mothers lounge feeding Sale when I heard a knock at the door. All of the sudden my cool place of peace turned into chaos. Everyone joined me in the lounge. We  crossed our fingers another mom didn't come in and we were in luck cause no one ever did.

We went home had some snacks. I fell asleep on the couch and woke up to Koki (in a not so quiet voice) asking Joslyn why she would poop in her room. He came downstairs and I was about to get up to go see but he told me not to. He's a smart man. I stayed down and made dinner while he cleaned the mess. I guess she had to go really bad and then when she did she smashed it in a bottle and since it was on her hands she wiped it on her clothes, NASTY! She promises she'll never do that again.

Meanwhile Isaac and Gideon kept fighting. First it was about their fire knives. Then it was they wanted the same color pencil to color at the exact same time. When Koki brought out the crayons of course they wanted the same color again. These two love to get on each others nerves. They had numerous talks about being nice, someone be a peacemaker, you can't control others only yourself, the list goes on. I told them they should blog about their arguments so when they get older they can laugh about it.

In the end it was a bit more exhausting Sunday than usual but it all worked out.

13 Years

We celebrated our Anniversary yesterday. Koki wanted to sleep in and I wanted a clean house. It was a win win situation. Malia and Tiana came over to stay with the older kids and mom watched Sale. We went to the temple and did sealings. I love reminiscing about our wedding day. I love hearing our sealing covenant.  Its my favorite wedding tradition.

After the temple mom said Sale was sleeping and we could go out to eat. We were on our way when a little boy wasn't paying attention on his bike and when he saw us it startled him so bad he totally ate it. He was ok but banged up pretty bad. We waited till the ambulance got there then left to Chili's.  That's our go to restaurant. We were trying to get up the nerve to ask for a free dessert for our anniversary but both of us were to chicken to do it. Still good choice for food.

We went to pick up Sale then headed to the movies. We decided we deserved a real movie and not a free movie at the sticky shoe, aka Towne Cinema, in American Fork. Well worth the money. We saw Mission Impossible 4. I really liked it. Sale was so good in the movie too.

Our night ended at Cold Stone. Rene told us to share a pint its cheaper so that's exactly what we did. It was delicious. Typically we head to Wal Mart after every date but I resisted. One thing we did for each other was post on FB. Well actually Koki started it with a post in the morning. It was awesome. I had to get a post in before the day was over too.  I loved our Anniversary. It was perfect.

****FACEBOOK POST****
13 years today! She's an amazing wife and mother. She means everything to me and is my best friend. I love her so much! Here are some lessons learned over the years:

First 5 years:
-Don't get expensive gifts and just clean her house
-You don't actually dry your hand w/a decorative towel...
-She loves action movies even more than I do
-Don't follow her from room to room during an argument - She wants SPACE
-As awkward and hard as it was at first, family home evening is key

Years 6-10:
-She likes roses and some gifts again but still better clean her house
-Dates are great, but going to the temple isn't considered a date
-"Yes, you can go play basketball" can sometimes mean yes, but can also mean "stay home and watch a movie with me" or "take yor kids so I can go to sleep"
-A girls night out for Marion is a great time for cereal and no baths at home
-If you don't see something made for dinner, don't ask what's for dinner

Years 10-13:
-Marion is the glue in our family
-Go to bed mad at each other, sleep helps a lot
-Take the kids whenever possible
-Bring home a kit kat after work
-"nothing is wrong" means "I shouldn't have to say what's wrong, you should already know"
---------

I don't know how in the world I can top your post but I will say this. I wanted to marry a man just like my dad. A man that honors his Priesthood. A man that treats me like I'm worth all the treasure in the world. A man that tells me I'm beautiful even when it's 5 at night and I haven't showered or brushed my hair. I wanted a man whose love for God and my Savior, Jesus Christ, was undeniable. Who would lead my family back to Him.
I was lucky to find that man and extremely blessed when you chose me back. Happy 13th hon!

Another School Year has Begun

First day of school was really hard for me this year. We had such an amazing summer as a family and I didn't want it to end. The boys of course were pretty excited. Gideon had a little mixed emotions cause he is on crutches (Monday we went to the doctor and found out he has a high sprain. Hoping its not torn ligaments too). I went to buy them school clothes yesterday but left my wallet at home. After Jarom's practice last night I ran to trusty Wal Mart and did some last minute shopping. My boys are in the t-shirt / basketball shorts phase. That's all they want to wear, just like their daddy. When I came home they were so grateful and excited about every little thing. When I pulled out their own package of socks they were like, "Wow our own socks. Thanks mom!" I love how easy they are to please. y

This morning they woke up did their stuff. I made chocolate chip pancakes for them. I told them I'd take them since Gideon was on crutches. I barely got out of the car before Isaac and Jarom were kissing me good bye. Gideon stayed with me. I feel so bad cause we could see his class walking in but we weren't fast enough. When we got to the class everyone was already sitting in their desk. Exactly what Gideon hates. In my defense Jos made us late waking up at 9 when our go time was 8:50.

I'm really excited to see how their first day was. Love my kids!
I'm not organized enough to have those cute little pictures with their
grades on them so hands will have to do. (6th, 4th, and 2nd grade)

The boys were dying to get in the car but I had to get a
quick picture of all of them.

Selfie before school. Can't believe its his last year in elementary.
I am so so sad that he is growing up.

This cute boys class was still outside when I was done with
Gideon so made him take a picture.

She has become the new babysitter

She tried to be the babysitter but it lasted 2 seconds then she
was pushing him to the floor.

Gideon's 11th Birthday

I can't believe we have an 11 year old :( I'm only sad because he is growing up way to fast for me. Gideon is an amazing son. He is so much like his dad. He is very sensitive to people's feelings. He never wants anyone to feel left out. He always helps if someone is feeling sick or sad. He has a strong gift of compassion. I have no doubt that Gideon is a son of God that has been sent to this earth to accomplish an important mission for our father in Heaven. Although I truly get sad how fast he is growing up I am excited for his future. He has a lot of great things in store.

In true Gideon fashion he wanted to support his cousins football game for his birthday

We did a donut cake after the game

Koki and I took him out to dinner. He chose Pizza Pie Cafe.

It was awesome spending time with just us and him
