A big year for Gideon

With Gideon turning 12 there were a lot of first that came with it. He received his priesthood, was able to get a temple recommend, he went to do baptisms for the dead, and he started Jr High.  These were all things as a parent I was looking forward to (well maybe minus going to Jr High) and I know he was too. Its been awesome to see him grow. Yesterday he passed the sacrament for the first time. Before church he told me he was so nervous and he didn't want to mess up. He also didn't want to be the one to take it to the bishop and go on the stand. They had him do it anyways and he did a great job. Another great feeling as a parent to see your son progressing in the gospel and worthy to do so.

I look forward to seeing Gideon and the rest of my kids progress!

Happy parents

Why is he getting so old??

Miracles

Our family is always blessed. Lately it has been so much that I felt we needed to start writing down all the miracles. I want my kids to always remember these things...

Our water heater kept going out. We prayed for it to be okay. Our neighbor Bill came over and told me his went out and he had to replace it. He said for the amount of time we've been in our home its about the same time water heaters usually need replacing. He went downstairs and came back up just a few minutes later. I thought oh it is totally broken BUT to my surprise he said we must be doing something right because he was able to light the pilot. What a blessing.

I was just about to back up when Koki happened to come out and ask where Sale was. Sale was right behind my back tire. I know for a fact we were blessed that Koki came out and Sale was safe. It hurts my heart to think something else could have happened to him.

Isaac and Jarom had scout camp. They couldn't find the scout shirt for Isaac anywhere. I was downstairs when all of the sudden they ran down and said they said a prayer and then right after they saw the shirt in their closet. Amazing.

Jaycie broke her arm jumping off the trampoline. When I first took her to the doctor she said it was broken by her elbow and that those are things they don't mess with. Most likely we'd have to go to primary children's hospital but they'd need to wait for the x ray results to come back and the swelling to go down. That night we got a call that our normal doctor wanted us to come back in the next day. When we went in he told us where she broke it the way you repair it is by stretching her arm out.  In two weeks she would be good as new...no surgery and no cast needed. Blessing.

The other night Gideon woke up crying pretty bad. He gets bad dreams quite often and scared. Its really hard for him to go back to sleep and get the scary thoughts out of his head. It was about 2 in the morning and he came in our room just crying holding his head. I asked if he wanted me to say a prayer and he did. I prayed that he would be okay and feel calm. I asked for him to have a clear mind and feel comfort. As soon as I said amen he put his head down and was out. I actually went to go get my phone to play church music for him but he was already fast asleep when I came back. God works so fast. (June '16)

Instagram Summer Catch Up

Jarom joined the mowing ranks today. His dad is happy to have 3 boys to help in the yard now.

5 seconds ago he was playing. I looked down and he fell asleep like this.  Whatever works to get you to sleep little boy.

Jaycie wanted to put her little brothers pajamas on last night. I didn't think they would fit but I was wrong. How come kids look so cute in pajamas like these?!?!

After years of begging to play tackle football and having his dad as a strong ally I finally gave in.

Who said I'd never have a dog in my house??? 😄😂 Jaycie has been in this outfit for hours. I can hear Jos say, "Doggie come here...Doggie no no...Good doggie." It's adorable. There's even been some good barking from this cute little dog.

Well checks for these boys. Gideon is in the 83 percentile for weight and 95 for height. Sale is 55 percentile for weight and 86 for height.

When the kids aren't in school and one of them has an appointment with an ENT Dr the waiting room turns into a playground and you become the focus point for everyone else.

Enjoying the last days of summer at the park. Kids loved the big trees to climb, getting wet and muddy in the water, eating junk, and playing with friends. Great day for them and for me.

The practice after practice. Koki and Gideon having some quality father son time in our family room.

First haircuts thanks to Aunty Tor

Jaycie just picked up a phone and told us, "Hold on, I need to call my boyfriend." 😂

😂 @kokicline we're in trouble.

One of the ways my husband and I are opposites.... It starts pouring rain. I stay inside and don't want any part of it. He runs in and tells the kids come out and play in the rain with him.

Jarom had his first game yesterday. He was the quarterback and was so excited he got to wear a wristband with all the plays. After his game he said, " Mom, we killed them." He was so happy.

We had a wonderful time celebrating Gideon. For breakfast he wanted biscuits and gravy. He switched up the normal birthday breakfast. We let him invite one of his friends to hang out with us for the day. They went to the movies (Isaac and Jarom went too). They saw TMNT 2 and the second Captain America movie. They loved them both. After the movies Koki was able to get off early and we went to Rumbi grill for a late lunch. Gideon had football practice so we took a little break from his birthday celebration so he could go. When he came home we had his birthday dinner. He chose Lagana and Oreo cookie dessert. After dinner we went around the circle and everyone told Gideon what they loved about him.

I shared that Gideon was a huge blessing to me and Koki. We were very sad at the loss of his sister, Joy and it was only months after Joy passed away that we found out we were pregnant with Gideon. He helped our spirits before he was even born. Gideon is an amazing son. A strong spirit. We know that God has a work for him to do on this earth and we hope we can help him accomplish that work. He is our most compassionate son. He is sensitive for everyone. He feels people's pain and always wants to help. He is also an amazing brother. He takes care of his siblings so well and is such a great example to them.
So blessed Gideon is in our family. Happy 12th birthday son!

Ward Camp

We look forward to ward camp every year. Its a great time to stay up late, hang with friends and each other, and eat, eat, eat. This years ward camp was a couple weekends before school started. It was the last big thing we were going to do. At first we didn't think we could go because Koki was scheduled to work but luckily he was able to get off. We ended up having to buy a new tent this year. The boys were so excited because it was an instant tent and 12 MAN!! Our biggest tent yet. Its fun to see how easy it is for our kids to get excited about things. This was one of those things.
Ward camp definitely did not disappoint. We had so much fun and in our new tent :)
Isaac just couldn't stay up even though he really really wanted to
