Football

Koki and I got to go on a date to the BYU vs. Utah game. I'm not sure if you could totally call it a date since we only saw eachother before and after the game, oh and half-time if you want to count that.

I went to the game cheering for Utah (my bro. coaches for Utah) and Koki sat with his mom who is a die hard BYU fan. He claims he was torn at the end of the game of who he wanted to win but I think that was just to keep the peace in the car on the ride home. Either way it was still fun to be out without kids and watch a good football game.

The divided couple :)
I sat with my sister Jo and cousins. The guys are just random fans that wanted to get in the pic. The red crowd is CRAZY!

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a great Thanksgiving with lots of friends and family. I think there were 4 turkey's 2 hams and a TON of sides. Enough food to feed the masses and last the whole day.

We were happy our college friends joined us along with Aunty Tricia and Byron. Thanksgiving is always better when there are more people so we can play our games. We started off with musical chairs and then we lost the guys to basketball for the night. We did manage to play dodgeball and volleyball when we got them back.

I love our Thanksgiving tradition. It's always fun and something to look forward to.

This is after dinner. We lost our kids to playing and decided to take a quick pic.
Isaac was by the dessert table all night. He was born with a sweet tooth.
Gideon and his crew love to take pictures

Sunday Nights

We actually had nothing to do Sunday night. At one point I thought I was going to be bored out of my mind but then we started playing around with the camera and family video night begun. It's pretty fun to just sit and be entertained by 3 little boys and an always funny husband.

During a dull moment Koki and I decided to hide to see how long it would take for the boys to find us. Usually I leave the room and literally seconds pass when all three boys are screaming for me. But for some reason we could just hear them talking to eachother entertaining themselves. Koki was about to give up on the game but I convinced him to start knocking and making weird sounds to lure them to us. It worked. We could hear footsteps coming toward us and then Gideon said, "I know you guys are in there." So he wasn't amused but we sure were :)...Oh and the object of their affection while we were hiding was THE CAMERA!!!

Halloween

Our Halloween weekend was packed. We had a ton of fun going from party to party. My good friend provided all of my boys their costumes this year. We had Superman, a pirate, and Spiderman. I love this holiday, just not all the candy that I eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner once it's over.

We didn't start carving pumpkins till about 9 pm. It was such a late night.

Isaac and his pumpkin

I think carving pumpkins is one of Gideon's favorite things about Halloween.

Koki is always the one that has to take charge of this ritual. For some reason I shy away cause it seems like so much work.

The boys were happy with their finished result.
Gideon's first Halloween school parade. I can not believe how crowded this was. I felt bad for out little kindergarteners cause everyone pretty much left by the time they came out.

Gideon during his class Halloween party!
Our ward party

Koki just finished a cake eating contest. He was sad cause it's the first time he lost a food eating contest. Thanks a lot Aaron, for taking my husbands prized title away LOL.

He thought he had this contest in the bag. He didn't even look up for the picture.

We went by this neighborhood that does a Harry Potter theme for Halloween. It was pretty cool.

Daddy with his pirate.

We went to my sister's to trick-or-treat. The kids went FOREVER. Luckily my kids got cold pretty fast.

Family Picture attempt at Aunty Rene's

When everyone got home they dumped their candy and the sorting began.
As soon as we left Irene's house all three boys fell asleep. Guess it's a sign of a good night.

Trials

This past week I have heard of several people losing a loved one. Some of these people I have never met but I still feel so sad and sorry for what they may be going through. Tonight I was reading the blog of the wife whose husband passed away suddenly and can't help but cry for her.

I'm always amazed of how other people go through trials and come out so strong. It really makes you step back and appreciate them and their example. I know God has a plan for each of us.

I was reading a talk in a past conference about trials and it said how we all need to have trials but that God is just waiting for us to get through them to bless us. I know that there is a reason for everything.

I love the gospel. I love the knowledge that has been set forth in the scriptures that helps us get through what trials may come our way. I'm blessed for the many examples that have been placed before me of wonderful people living through their trials faithfully. I silently thank them for helping me want to be better. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church on this earth and I am blessed to be a part of it.

Blogging Time

My husband is at YM, 2 of my boys are sleeping, the house is actually quiet and all I can think of doing is updating my blog. Is that lame or what?!?

We had a pretty cool family outing last night. We took our kids to this local Halloween thingy with some friends and my sisters. Even though we went when it was really cold, really windy, and somewhat rainy the kids loved it! The best part about going when it's freezing out is not many other people will, so the kids got to do quite a bit since there were no lines.

They had a little Haunted House that Gideon thought was so cool. I attempted to take Isaac and his little buddy Jakob but we only got a few steps before they both said they wanted out. Jarom did a somersault in one of the bounce houses which was something I'd never seen before. He tried to recreate the moment on our bed when we got home and fell off. He didn't get hurt but it was funny. I'm glad our outing helped Jarom find his new talent.

I love this time of year. One holiday right after another. If you live by me I hope you enjoy my Halloween decorations that I just put out cause we only have one week left!!!

Blog Shout Out

Here are some shout outs for things that have been exciting to blog about but just don't have enough detail to take on a post of its own...

SHOUT OUT to Gideon for starting Kindergarten and learning how to ride a bike all in the same month. He was so excited to start school and asked me not to pick him up on the first day. Gotta love his independence!

SHOUT OUT to garage sales. Where I scored this bike trailer for $25. Now I don't have to be so stinkin hot when I walk Gideon to school. I can ride along Gideon, kind of in style :)

SHOUT OUT to my Little Brother CJ who made the squad for the St. Louis Rams. If you were by my house when I got the call you would have heard screaming for a good 5 minutes straight.

SHOUT OUT to my husband's newly acquired skill...changing our oil in the cars. The first time he attempted we were on our way to Colorado for a Football game and he missed one minor detail which resulted in oil all over the garage. I didn't take a picture cause you can imagine the mood of the home after that ;)

SHOUT OUT to Isaac and play group. He had a couple friends come over today and he was in heaven. It was so cute to seem them follow eachother around and so nice I had some time to blog about it.

It's been a fun couple of weeks. I really want to try to stay up on the blogging but we'll see.

Mr. and Mrs. Cline

Rememeber doodling in high school the name of the guy you liked on EVERYTHING!!! When I met Koki back in the summer of '96 that's exactly what I did. I wrote about him, talked about him, dreamed about him. My journal is full of "Koki this.." and "Koki that." We didn't date back then. As a matter of fact he didn't even know I liked him. It was a secret crush I guess. Sometimes I'll remind him of things we did and he'll have no clue but it meant the world to me. Like one time he asked if I wanted to eat lunch with him. I remember getting butterflies and so excited that I would be sitting right next to him. It would be a great story if that would of marked our first date but he doesn't even remember. What a jerk j/k!!!!

In 2000 there was a poster sale going on in the Wilk at BYU. I was actually there buying a poster for my boyfriend when I saw Koki. We started talking, maybe flirting :) and the next thing I knew I committed to go dance in the BYU Luau that year just so I could see him at practice every Saturday. That first Saturday practice was so funny. Practices started really early in the morning so most people literally rolled out of bed and showed up. Not me!!!! I got up early did my hair and make-up and found an outfit that allowed me to dance but also looked cute. It worked too cause that night he asked me out on our first date. Score!!! We went to a movie with like 10 of his friends (he was too nervous to go out with just me and him). Little by little we started hanging out more and more and then on Feb 10, 2000
we had our "DTR" talk (define the relationship). I had already broken up with my boyfriend and he was suppose to go on a date with someone else. He asked how I felt and I said I'd be really sad if he went out with other girls and so it began.

(BYU '00)

We had fun dating in college. I loved having him walk me to class and wait for me when class was done. I was really shy before I dated Koki. I hardly went out and really kept to myself. In fact I hated walking through the WILK (cafeteria) at BYU cause there were always tons and tons of people that I didn't know. Koki was completely opposite. He stopped and said hi to EVERYONE! He was always wanting to do something. It's funny how much he's rubbed off on me. I'm glad cause he actually gave me a whole different experience in college then I was use to.

(Luau 2000)

We dated for a long time, 2 1/2 years. In Utah years it's comparable to eternity LOL. In the summer of '02 I was at a family reunion in Hawaii. We already knew we were getting married in August but he hadn't given me my ring yet. One day my family was being really funny. They told me that Koki sent me a video and I needed to go watch it. My aunt works at BYU Hawaii so we went to a classroom and the video was being played on the big projection screen. It was pictures of Koki and I throughout the 2 years of dating. After, I was given a note that I needed to go to Temple Beach for a gift he sent. When I got to the beach there was a path of roses. I followed them to a table that had apple cider, chocolate cake, and more roses. Then Koki came from behind me and gave me a big hug. He wrote a song for me that he sang and at the end of the song he asked me to marry him. It was awesome.

(The Proposal)

This is our 7th wedding anniversary. I'm excited to continue my life's journey with the man of my dreams. I can't believe it was 13 years ago that I first met him. Time sure flies when your having fun and when you have someone great to live and share every moment with. Happy Anniversary to us. I love you honey!!!

In honor of my son's birthday I decided to interview him. Here's what I asked...

How old are you? 5

What's your favorite
...

Color? Color what does that mean? Uh Green is my favorite color. Like this green (pointing to his action hero doll)

Place to go? The Zoo (If you know me you know I'm not into animals so this child has never been to the zoo. I can't decide if it's sad or funny that he has to daydream about it)

What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a rock star (oh boy I wasn't expecting that answer :)

Where do you want to live when you grow up? In Utah, but I'm going to miss you guys when I live in Utah cause you guys will never come to my house.

What are you going to do now that you're five? I'm going to go to Kindergarten and I'm going to ride my bike to kindergarten. I'm going to play basketball.

Lions and Tigers and Bears Oh My

Okay so there were no lions and no tigers, well really there weren't even bears but In my world there were bears EVERYWHERE!!! . The only time I went camping growing up was at a beach. It had hot showers and nice bathrooms with lockers. I wouldn't really say it was camping but for my mom that was the closes we were ever going to get. I didn't mind that we weren't a camping family. Not really into sleeping in a tent, figuring out how to cook over a fire, and last but certainly not least being stanky and dirty. For our family vacations we stayed in hotels and swam in pools. We did sleep on the hotel floor most of the time but I'd take a carpeted C..L..E..A..N floor over dirt and rocks any day.

I've been taking baby steps into the camping world since I've become a mom. For the first time in my life I went on a two day camping trip in the mountains last weekend. You can tell how often you go camping when your 3 year old refers to the mountains as the jungle LOL. We went with some friends and that gave me the security I needed to feel I wasn't going to be eaten at night.

As soon as we got there the boys were off getting dirty and having fun. Gideon was in Heaven. He loves playing with friends and he hates taking baths. Camping fulfilled both of those for him. I did learn that next time it is okay to bring wash cloths and wipe the boys down before they go to sleep. Thank Heavens!!!! Their dirtiness was grossing me out and I wasn't sure if wiping down was a part of the camping experience. I will say I was prepared mentally to let the boys go to bed dirty just as long as they didn't touch the stuff I was sleeping on or me for that matter.

The first night I woke up wanting to go home cause I had to go to the bathroom and I was scared out of my mind that a bear was going to attack me. I wish I took a picture of how ridiculous I looked walking to the bathroom. I had a flashlight on my forehead and another in my hand and said a ton of prayers. I survived the night and felt a lot more confident the second night even though I pushed a friend in front of me on the way back from the bathrooms cause I thought a bear was making noise in the trash. It was just a husband throwing stuff away. Go figure!

Next time I think I can promise I won't be such a woosie. I guess we won't know till we go again ;)

What A Weekend

I love the 4th of July. It's always been my favorite holiday and it's even better because we get to celebrate Isaac's birthday the day before. This year Isaac was so excited to have a birthday party. It was his very first party and he loved it. Everyday last week he would ask if it was his birthday. I like doing birthday parties when the kids actually understand what's going on.

Isaac woke up and we had his birthday breakfast ready to go. We made the biggest #3 pancake ever. It was enough for all three boys to eat. I made this ghetto band for his head and didn't think he would actually wear it BUT he did and smiled every second!

I love my Isaac. He loves to cuddle and climb all over us. He can't stand getting in trouble. Whenever we raise our voices at him he always puts his cute chubby hands to his eyes and somehow always has instant tears. Then he ask,"Mom are you mad at me?" Which never fail I say no and I just want him to listen. We love having Isaac in our family. He gives lots of hugs and kisses that I hope will never end as he gets older.

On Saturday we actually missed the parade that we go to every year because we were so tired from Friday night. Koki didn't mind cause he was hot as soon as we stepped out of the car. I told Koki I felt bad for not following tradition and he said we could start a new one. Which I turned down pretty quickly. We met Koki's mom and brother for lunch and then went to the festivities on Center Street where I scored $5
sunglasses :) Afterwards it was off to the pool.

Later on that night we waited for the fireworks. This is the best part of the day cause it's nice and cool and everyone just sits and visits.

Koki brought sparklers for the kids. Isaac loved it. Gideon had to get use to it.

Jarom fell asleep before the show even started so this was the last family shot we got before he was out for the night.

Issac and me enjoying the sky being lighted!

Gideon safe with his daddy right next to him.

Even though this holiday is probably the longest of them. I love every minute of it!!!!
