Last month we bought Koki a new car. Koki has been wanting a new car for years and I was always the one that said we needed to wait and it was nice that we didn't have another car payment. One night I was on Instagram and saw that a friend of mine from college had a sister in law whose husband passed away. She has 8 kids to raise on her own. My friend mentioned that they are looking for a car for the teenagers to help drive for their mom. I had the thought when I saw the post that maybe we were supposed to give Koki's car to them. For my husband those thoughts come to him daily and he has no problem following them. For me it doesn't come as easy. How are we going to afford a new car? What car are we going to buy? Do we really want another car payment? All questions that were in my head over and over. I had just recently checked BYU's surplus vehicles they were selling. I remember seeing a 2010 Toyota Camry. To condense the story the thought to give the car kept coming and I realized I should probably text my friend. My first offer was to allow the nieces and nephews to borrow the car and as the conversation progressed I told her we'd just give them the car. I told her this on a Tuesday. That week we put a bid on the car at BYU. Friday we found out that we were the lucky ones that won the bid. Two Sundays later we met to give Koki's old car (that was August 21st).
Our first payment for Koki's car is due in two days. Minutes ago I checked to see what Koki's paycheck was going to be tomorrow. HE GOT A $137 RAISE!!!! His car payment is $131. I share this story not to boast actually to share how wonderful God is. He has a plan for all of his kids. He knows all. He does provide. I know this to be true with all my heart. I'm grateful he gave Koki and I the opportunity to serve. I KNOW GOD LIVES!
