It was Isaac's first year doing Bantam basketball and Gideon's second. We had such a fun time supporting the boys. Koki was the assistant coach for both boys teams.
Gideon played on a new team this year. He had his friend So'i on his team too. As the season progressed So'i stopped coming which bummed Gideon out a bit. The first few games Gideon played a little here and there. He was disappointed that he wasn't used more. We told him that the coach doesn't know him yet and how he plays. He just needs to prove himself to the coach and earn his spot on the team. It was hard and discouraging at times but Gideon sure did do the work. By the end of the season he was a starter. He had a lot of playing time and he really started enjoying his new team. I was so proud of all his hard work. It really paid off. In their season ending tournament they ended up winning the tournament. It was a wonderful way to end the season.
Isaac had so much fun playing in the Bantam league. We put the team together with his friends from church which made it fun for him. Our good friend Charlie Fano was the head coach and Koki was the assistant. Isaac played as a guard and was amazing. There were a few games where they lost and Isaac took it pretty hard. He is such a competitive kid. Every single game he came off the court drenched in sweat. He ran up and down that court and gave it everything he had every single game. Koki and I were so glad he did Bantam this year and not Jr. Jazz. I think he would have been bored out of his mind in Jr. Jazz. Isaac's team won their season ending tournament too. It was a great night for both of our boys.
Just taking it all in after Gideon's team won.
Isaac, still holding his trophy from his game earlier
You can't tell but Gideon was so excited to win the tournament.
There's that smile!
Fun to have Koki as a coach
Isaac and Mathias with their family after the win
Coach Dad and son
Great season Isaac
