Spring Break Hike 2020

Even with Covid 19 they wanted to keep the hiking tradition alive. Our boys were so excited. They went to bed at 11 which was the earliest they've gone to sleep this whole month.
Beginning of the hike. They started at 11:17 am.

This time they started on the Eagle Mountain side and hiked to Saratoga.  Here was their first mountain to climb.

They said the first mountain to climb was the hardest. At 11:45 they took their second break of three to reach the top of that first mountain. (Rion sent me the picture of the break).

12:54 pm Isaac called to see if I could see them at the top of the mountain (I couldn’t ).

2:57 they made it to the trail of Israel canyon. 4:05 They finished at the bottom of Israel Canyon.

My boys loved it! Right when we got home they were talking about going again. The weather was great. Koki liked going Eagle Mountain to Saratoga. He even thought this time was easier. They had plenty of food, great music, and loved that their cousins were there too.

Koki said the boys did awesome on the hike. They were usually ahead and would do extra hiking while they waited for the group. Everyone got a kick out of what Gideon packed for his lunch. While they pulled out their sandwiches, trail mix, and granola bars, Gideon had meatballs, rice, and chow mein๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. Isaac said when he ate his PB&J sandwich it was the best one he’s ever eaten. I guess hiking does that to you.

Jarom staked his claim with this makeshift flag.

Of course Gideon took off his shoes towards the end of the hike.
